The goal of this intensive one-week
program is to create the content for a marketing-smart web site that
your prospects and clients will find useful and usable. We will focus
on developing the content (keeping your target market in mind) and
determining how it should be presented, how the copy on the site is
written (i.e. for the web) and how the site should be laid out for
maximum ease of use.
With the guidance of Ilise
Benun, author of Self Promotion Online (and several other books), you
and a small group of solopreneurs will work together to develop a
"marketing-smart" web site with strong positioning and your
target market in mind.
Here's what we'll do:
The Course
Program will guide you through a combination of scheduled
assignments and half-hour conference calls spread over the week.
- Monday through Thursday you will
be
reading independently.
- Between Thursday and Friday, you
will do online research and prep work.
- On Friday at 3PM EST we will have
the kick-off conference call and assignment. There will be a second conference call on Saturday.
- The first draft of your website
text is due on Saturday at 7PM if you want feedback.
- Ilise will stay up all night
reading and commenting, and will send
in-depth comments by Sunday's conference call.
It's that simple. By Sunday evening,
the content for your web site will be ready for the web.
You will have:
+ completed content for your web site, ready to post
+ ideas for layout of your web site
+ referrals to web designers (and copywriters, if necessary)
+ best of all, a plan to drive traffic to your site through online
marketing
