I don't know what's going on, but a lot of people I spoke to last week are nervous.
More than one lost their biggest client overnight.
Others tell me they aren't getting any new inquiries.
They don't know what to do and feel paralyzed.
I know it's scary when things are changing and it's all up to you.
I know it can feel like the beginning of the end.
But giving in to the fear is the worst thing you can do.
So here's what I want to say:
You are smart.
You are resourceful.
You've made it this far.
You can rise to the occasion.
Instead of being scared, you could be excited, eager to see what's next.
Instead of being in a panic, you could be open to whatever's around the corner.
So if this is happening to you, you're not alone.
When I'm in this position, I get excited.
I start tinkering with things and I can't wait to see what happens.
I listen differently and I consider saying yes to ideas I may have rejected before.
In a word, I open up.
That's the only way out.
If something isn't working, get to work figuring out what you can do differently, which especially means talking to people.
Conversations spark ideas -- we can't do this by ourselves.
But you do have to put yourself first, which I wrote about on the blog and for HOWDesign.com.
Aren't you curious to see what else you can make happen?
You can do this.
And if I can help you in any way, don't hesitate to reach out to me or sign up for my free mentoring session.
