Listening is the new reading, they say, and I have to agree -- although I continue to write for readers.
But I do a lot of listening and here are two of my favorites so far this weekend:
1. The Waking Up Podcast with Sam Harris
Episode #136 Digital Humanism: a conversation with Jaron Lanier, computer scientist and author of many books, including, You Are Not a Gadget and 10 Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now.
In this episode of the Waking Up podcast, Sam Harris speaks with Jaron Lanier about the economics, politics, and psychology of our digital lives. They discuss the insidious idea that information should be free, what we should want from an advanced economy, the role of advertising, libertarianism in Silicon Valley, the problems with social media, and other topics. Listen here.
2. To The Best of Our Knowledge with Anne Strainchamps
What's Wrong with Work?
How do you find not just a salary, but meaning at work? It's not easy in America today to find work that matters, that’s meaningful, and that pays enough to live on. Which is the one thing we don’t talk about. So let’s talk about it: What’s wrong with work — and how do we fix it?. Listen here.
Enjoy...and if you want to hear the 2 podcasts I host, listen to The Marketing Mentor Podcast and the HOW Design Live podcast.
